Drug information resources on the CHC portal The Clinicians Health Channel (CHC) portal provides centralised access to current evidence-based information resources and decision support systems. It is designed to assist doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other allied health professionals from the Victorian public health sector in their daily practice. It is often used to search for information about drugs – such as drug doses, precautions and interactions. There is an extensive range of specialist references available.

Resource updates

The Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook 7th edition - contains information on over 450 injectable medicines, including 65 antineoplastic medicines, antivenoms and intravenous fluids. All monographs from the sixth edition have been reviewed and updated. Based on the extensive feedback, new edition has increased focus on warnings and patient monitoring. Antineoplastic monographs are no longer in a separate section and are now listed along with all the other monographs in alphabetical order. They are still distinguished by the antineoplastic banner on the side of the page.  

AMH has decided to remove technical support for IE version 8 from 17th July 2017, as Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP and all security updates for older versions.  In January 2016, Microsoft announced its official discontinuation of Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10 (more information can be found on Microsoft’s support page).
The publisher has recommended that users should upgrade to Internet Explorer version 11 for AMH Online and Companion sites (AMH Aged Care Companion and AMH Children’s Dosing Companion). It will provide a better user experience for all AMH Online products. From January 2018 the contents from AMH Online and Companion sites will not be viewable for older versions of Internet Explorer 7 and 8.   

 The New England Journal of Medicine has launched their new resource: Resident 360. It includes-.
Rotation Prep: supports learning with an overview of the basics, and expertly chosen resources that provide foundational information, links to landmark clinical trials, and review articles. Covers: 14 rotation areas including mental health, infectious diseases, geriatrics, etc.
Learning Lab: provides interactive tools videos, podcasts on a variety of medical topics
Resident Lounge and Career sections: allow residents to connect with peers

NEJM Library Hub It provides information and tools for librarians to help clinicians in their research, clinical learning, and teaching.  

Search enhancements on Ovid platform
Adding annotations to searches this feature can help when collaborating on creating searches, or may be used to add the date when a search statement was added or changed in the or if a search from an existing study or a search filter is being used. Adding notes to results notes can be captured within the saved searches or alerts or outputs to reference management tools or within the My Projects Repository option.
Editing the search history for a particular search strategy, you can add, remove or change your search statements.
Author Identifiers users’ will be able to browse author’s profile and other related published work.
Addition of book records from PUBMED Central users’ will be able to view free books and book chapters from the Ovid Medline. View more information >> Recent changes to Medline on Ovid
